Worst Parents award goes to.....

Yeah, that would be us!!! We took Avery to the Dallas World Aquarium last Wednesday and FORGOT the camera. I mean seriously what kind of people do that??? I was soooo mad, I still am when I think about it! Avery LOVED the aquarium! I wish I had a picture of her face when she saw all of the fish swimming around her, she was in love! She loved every single part of the aquarium: the sharks that swam all around us in the tunnel, the alligators (which she can now say alligator and it is the funniest thing), the birds that fly around ( I hated that part), the monkeys, penguins...she was so excited about everything! She pointed out each animal and said what it was and even remembered what everything was when we walked around again...she is seriously soooo smart! We had so much fun at the aquarium, we are going to go back again, just so we can get some pictures!
Another thing I forgot my camera for was Avery's first time to catch a fish! I don't know what my problem is with forgetting my camera, but I managed to do it again when we went to Bowie this past weekend! UGH!!! Avery went fishing with her Papa Lew and she caught her first fish. I am pretty sure we might have a tomboy on our hands. Which, is okay with me as long as she still likes to be dressed up and girly too!! But, Papa caught a fish for her and she reeled it in all by herself! She was pretty excited and kept saying "fish, fish!!" Then, her Papa even let her touch the fish, something I would never do...but, he held the fish and held back the fins and Avery just petted it like it was a little kitten or something! She was pointing out it's eyes and mouth and then watched Papa throw the fish back in the water and Avery was saying "Bye, bye fish!" She caught a couple more fish that day and still remembers how to reel them in! She had sooo much fun at the lake! She had her first piece of Watermelon and I even let her eat it all by her self and get extremely sticky and messy. Let's just say she had to take a bath at Nanny and Poppy's before we could even leave!! She is soo much fun! We love her sooo much! It is the best thing to get to do new and fun things with her!!
On Tuesday she had her 18 month old check up! I can not believe my baby is 18 months old....that is 1 1/2 people!!! That means that in 6 months our baby will be 2!!! Okay, I can't even think about that yet. I have 6 months to come to terms with that! I better start now! He said she is just perfect!! Like we all didn't already know that! But, always good to hear from the dr. She weighs 26.6 pounds and is in the 75th percentile on her weight and she is 34 inches and in the 95th percentile on her height....looks like she might get her daddy's height!! She already knows some of her ABC's. She gets a little confused, it is sooo cute to listen to her sing them...she says...ABC, HIJKLMNOP......sooo funny! We are working on filling in the blanks, but are pretty darn proud of her for just knowing that! She doesn't have to go see the Dr. until she is 2 now and we will have two more shots to get still until she is 4!! WOOHOO, I am sooo excited about that one! I HATE even thinking about shots!! But, we are so proud and so in love with our smart girl! She is such a sponge and soaks up everything you do and say, she doesn't miss a beat! She will remember something just after hearing or seeing it one time! I have a ton of pictures I need to download still from the past week and weekend. I will get on that soon!!!

I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU DID THAT!!! J/K! I know how mad you are...I forgot to take my camera to Jack's Mother's Day Tea, so another Mom took that one picture of me and Jack. I can't even think about it!

Dear Des - I think you are a wonderful Mommie! Not having a camera for one event is NO BIGGIE. Let me tell you that Larry seemed to always bring the camera and assured me the film was loaded but when we got ready to take pics the roll was either used or gone or something - yep, we missed a graduation, prom, and a few other MAJOR milestones in both of our kids lives so I think we get the worst parent award - don't be too hard on yourself. Avery is just a doll and it's because of her Mommie & Daddie! Love to you both - Aunt Cindy (Dowis)

She is getting so big! And, she still LOVES her baby stroller! She pushes her babies around every where! I will post some pictures of her doing it for you! Hope to see you soon...hopefully you will see this response, I am not sure how to actually just respond to you on here! Love you too!!
